The Godfather of Soul

I found this piece of graphic design randomly from a link whilst on the web. Its clearly of James Brown and I it looks like theres been a lot of time spent arranging the type, in which creates the image. The curvey typface and lines remind me a little of Miton Glasier work, more so of the picture of Bob Dylan. (a slight resemblance) The colors work perfectly together and th closer you look, the words actualy include lyics to songs he sung, aswell as nicknames he was called. It looks like its advertising an event, and I know If I saw this poster I would want to know more. This would look great on my wall.

My Fascinating Tee

This is a t-shirt that I bought in a sale a few years ago.  Its a plain white tea apart from the fascinating image on the front.  Im still yet to work out its meaning, but the face of the young boy, is cleverly made up of tiny little people. The colors work very well together as the image looks very realistic, until you look harder. Red vs Blue seems to be the battle, but what their fighting over, still remains a puzzle.

Stranger Than Fiction

Arguably, one of the most amazing opening and closing credits of a film, would have to be Stranger Than Fiction - directed by Marc Forster.  It perfectly opens and closes the film, and shows how Erik (Will Ferrel) thinks, and how processes his thinking.  Its laid out with a large amounts of formulas and numbers, perfectly summing the character up.  An amazing piece of graphic design created by MK12 that you cant take your eyes off.  Worth a watch.

Alice Russell CD Cover

This is a CD cover that I have - Under The Munka Moon, from an artist by the name of Alice Russell (TruThoughts). All of her album covers have followed a similar style. Although is seems very chaotic, the lines, colors and artistic faces I've the cover a unique appeal. The type doesn't block the image, and remain clear and concise. Visually a great cover and a musically just phenomenal.

It Takes Two

This is a business card from a James A.W. Mahon - a divorce lawyer, which I came across on the web. The business card fit purpose of a divorce perfectly, one side for him and one side for her. Its clever and unique way to use advertise his services, using graphic design.

Catch Me If You Can

After researching a great deal of title sequences, I become to realize that the beginning of the film, can be the best part.  So many different kinds of graphic design are used.  This is a video of the title sequence from Steven Spielburg's, Catch Me If You Can.  A great start to the film.

Sick Shoes?

I found this clever piece of graphic design on an advatising website - from the Modern Shoe Hospital - a company thats been bringing footwear back to life for over 60 years. To remind people of their service, they placed sticky, camouflage band aids on sidewalks in front of their store, and outside local shoe shops. The band aids conveniently stuck to the soles of pedestrians, reminding them there's a place to bring your sick shoes. A very unique and bright idea.
