Using More Than You Need?

A clever piece of graphic design, created to make people more aware of how much toilet roll and paper tolls we use.  The typeface works well, as its bold and clear and makes you want to read on. (It goes on to say that there are discussions about the subject at 16.30-18.00 in room 111 in the convention centre for the IUCN Congress in Barcelona  - if anyones interested) Its placed in the restrooms, so unless people don't wash their hands, their bound to read it.  The advertising agency is Y&R, based in Geneva, Switzerland, and I think they created a great idea, about an important issue.

Why (how) Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

An advertisement I found from Nissan, created by TBWA, (based in L.A) promoting the new 280-hp altima se-r. An image that portrays perfect composition and balance, accurate color and just enough humor to make plenty of smiles stretched. A clever promotion.

Impossible Is Nothing

This image came from a design by adidas, relating to the beijing olympics.  In my eyes there is immediate contrast in color, supported with a form of unity by continuation.  Although there is a strong focal point, the page is not divided, but the blend of people literally hanging on to the flow of support, that the image represents.

Stress Head T-Shirt

Life ... Seems like every day it gets more and more hectic. Work, money, the weather, that pesky whole in your sock.. It all gets a bit too much. By the end of it, you're pulling your hair out because you just can't fit everything into your day. What can you do? no point stressing over it.

This image is from a T-shirt that I have, this piece of writing actually came with the T-shirt in the bag. I think the concept is simple, extremely effective, and sums up those kind of days that we have from time to time.

Cannon - Tripod

This is an advertisement from Cannon, advertising their new image stabilizer function on Cannon’s new models. Although the image has been manipulated a little, the photographer, Collin Anderson, has captured a picture that enhances the man with the camera, which acts as a strong focal point for the ad. The image is self explanatory, as the man acts as he is like a tripod, perfect for a any photographer. The colors are easy on the eye and the image very cleverly tells the audience what its like to own a new Cannon Camera. A really effective ad. Armstrong&Asociados

Anyone For A Brew?

A picture that I took of my brother drinking tea.  Although its not really graphic design, I think the picture holds the fundamentals, as it shows depth in size and proportion.  The idea could easily be used for a design layout or concept.

Abbey Road

This famous picture came straight to mind when rhythm and expression of lines were mentioned. In my eyes, although the thick white lines are facing vertically, the motion of repetition from the zebra crossing and the direction that the beatles are walking, flows horizontally. This sets a calm and more subtle tone to the image. An amazing picture in so many ways. Although I have the album, I found it on a great website with all of the beatles covers - there are some good ones!
